connect internal requires password

Hi All,

Oracle 7.3.4
Solaris 2.6

I created the account uid=1002 (oracle) gid=102(dba). I installed oracle using this account and entered "manager" for the System and SYS passwords during the install. I kept "dba" for the DBA group. The install went smoothly, it created my database, etc.

However, now "connect internal" from SQLPLUS requires a password. When I've installed oracle before, "connect internal" did not require a password if invoked from the oracle Unix account (in the dba group).

So, for example, if I resubmit
$ORACLE_HOME/../../admin/SID/create/crdbSID.sql and crdb2SID.sql, if now

fails when "connect internal" is used (but it worked during the install...weird).

Does anyone know what I've done wrong? How can I get "connect internal"

to not require a password? Does the dba group require a specific gid?

Many thanks...

Regards,
Scott
