Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.misc -> rman connect through TNS fails: ORA-01031
I am attempting to connect to a database with RMAN.
The recovery catalog is
on a remote machine. The "spot" database is on the
machine where I am typing
the rman command. The user "rcvr" has been given
SYSDBA privileges and has a
password stored in an external password file
created with orapwd.
Can anyone shed some light on why the second command below fails?
thanks in advance,
James
