PLSQL - UTL_FILE limits

I am unable to create a file via UTL_FILE that has a fully qualified name (directory+filename) greater than 32 characters. Is this an Oracle limit, or am I the doing something wrong? (Oracle 7.3.4 on Solaris) Chuck Hooper
