Ok, so this is more a unix (specifically aix) question than an oracle question, but I was wondering, if all the server processes and all of the oracle background processes (i.e., which show up on a ps list as ora_pmon_prod or oracleprod) are just instantiations of the oracle executable, how do they change their names to the OS? Renaming files is no big deal, but how do you rename a running process?

thanks
