no, but you do have to read the documentation. The error message is telling you "invalid analyze command". oerr ora 1490 further shows "Incorrect syntax specified". Analyze has lots and lots of options to it -- you haven't given the database a valid analyze command.

analyze can speed up your database, it can slow it down. Your mileage may vary. please -- read about it, understand what it is really doing, test it on a test database. If you blindly just start analyzing some tables in your database, without understanding the implications, no good will come of it.
