ODBC 8 problem with Borland BDE

I have encountered a problem using the Oracle8 ODBC drivers (8.0.5.2 thru 8.0.5.5) with the Borland Database Engine (BDE). When reading a numeric nullable column if the first returned value for the column should be non-null and all subsequent returned values should be null, all values are returned as null. If instead, the first returned value should be null and a subsequent value non-null, then the following error message is generated: "General SQL error. [Oracle][ODBC]Restricted data type attribute violation." The error occurs if the Oracle8 ODBC Prefetch Count (set from the ODBC administrator) is 10, but not if it is 1.

I have contacted Inprise (Borland) and Oracle. Each claims that their software is working correctly. Received on Thu May 20 1999 - 07:04:44 CDT
