One thing you want to watch out and which make "automatic conversion" difficult is if you have made use of the case-sensitive feature of Sybase, then you might encounter a problem with Oracle. E.g your myTable and mytable will both convert to MYTABLE in oracle. This may be a far-fetched example but it should illustrate some problems with naming convention after the conversion.
