Oracle8 features FailSafe option, which relies on Microsoft Clustering Service (NT 4.0 EE). If one machine fails, control is transferred to another. Users experience only a small delay - in some case loss of data not commited. Oracle8 Parallel Server is a very robust option, implemented in several operating systems. No delay or data loss occurs, since there are at least two active machines serving the network.

Replication is present even in Personal Oracle8. It is easy to use via Oracle Enterprise Manager.
