In the Oracle Administrator's Guide there is a chapter about licensing, and in this chapter there is a 'Warning' note which states, that the max. number or concurrent sessions (as specified using the initialization parameters) has to be adjusted when multiplexing one session over several clients. So if you share one session between n users, then it is as you had opened n different sessions. At least that's the way I understand it. Actually I'm not sure whether your case is the same situation, you have to contact Oracle probably.

It also seems that Oracle requires companies to buy licenses for umlimited concurrent users when giving access to the db using web applications,
since almost every web application uses session multiplexing. At least in my country it seems to be that way.
