Ken,

You can go quite large with this, MB's, but why would you want this? In a high volume OLTP environment I ended up with 128Kb after going as high as 1Mb.

For correct settings, check the v$sysstat parameters for the 'redo log' statistics, when you have space requests, then consider increasing, or if possible activate the redo copy latches in addition to the redo allocation latch.
