UTL_FILE exceptions

Is there a way to return a more specific OS error via a UTL_FILE exception? I'm trying to write to a file and I get the UTL_FILE exception UTL_FILE.WRITE_ERROR. However, after much head-scratching, I still can't figure out why I'm getting this error. I'm just wondering if I could do something similar to Perl's "$!", which returns the specific OS error message.

Thanks,
Mark
