Oracle's Answer to Access 2000/MSDE/SQL Server 7 ??

Some of our clients are eagerly awaiting the release of Access 2000 and its new MSDE, which is being touted as a a kind of little-brother to SQL Server 7, i.e. fully code-compatible with the c/s engine without its system management uilities. Great for development of c/s prototype applications and for easy upsizing of applications that grow too large or too important for the desktop or the small departmental NT server.

What is Oracle's answer to Access 2000/MSDE and the heavy threat it will pose to Oracle's continued penetration into the desktop and departmental database market segments?

Is Oracle going to include a state-of-the-art visual-query-interface with its desktop and department workgroup products? Or is Oracle going to concentrate on the web-related aspects of the product line at the expense of desktop and department integration?

Grateful for information on the tack the company is taking...
