Connecting to Oracle database with JDBC => SQLException

When trying to connect to an Oracle database with JDBC I get an SQLException saying: "No more data to read from socket".

The database is empty, no data but there are procs and views - can this cause my problem?

Anyone who knows the reason for this exception message?
