These are under /usr/include/asm in a few different files there including shmparam.h Use the "grep" command to find which file has the parameter you want to change.

You can install on only one, but it is not a good idea. You should have more than one physical disk to install Oracle. If you have two disks, you can at least put one re-do log member on each disk, and one control file on each.

]and got to a screen where it wanted all the paths to things like
]ORACLE_BASE, ORACLE_SID, etc. I tried to assigne directories under
]/home/oracle, but it just exited after that.
You should set your ORACLE_BASE, ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID before running the install. If you don't the install goes weird and makes up all sorts of non-existent directories.
