ORA-12203 : TNS: Unable to connect to destination

Hi,


If I try to type in database name in Developer 2000
or Demo  when I am prompted.


I get message. ORA-12203 : TNS: Unable to connect to destination.
Does anybody knows how to find out database name.
Because my friend installed Oracle for me I dont now database name.
