You are using 8.0.3 or 8.0.4 in NT I suppose and the ODBC driver manager is version 3.5 I suppose. The driver shipped by oracle in 8.0.3 and 8.0.4 is not workable in ODBC 3.5 - I have seen. The problem lies in the driver not in Jet or ODBC driver manager. Just down load ODBC driver 8.0.4.4 or a later one from oracle site and all your problem will be solved. The original version shipped with oracle is 8.0.4.0 or 8.0.3.0 which is not workable against the server.
