Help with Network Setup

Okay,


        I'm really sick and tired of not understanding the black magic
and oracle's cabalistic manuals regarding setting up machines to use
oracle across a network.  Can anyone recommend some good books on TNS,
what I need to do to set up a machine as a client, and so on?  I'm
really sick of floundering around like this.
