Check the listener.ora file. Make sure that the hostname entries exist. Also
make sure that the machine can see the host over the network. If you can't
see the host over the network ( ping <hostname> ) that could cause the
listener to abort.
Also make sure that if listener service is listed under control panel ->
services, it is set to automatic and is running.
