Newbie to Oracle needs advice, boss gave me some Oracle software that has been sitting around for about a year called "Personal Oracle 7 Enterprise Edition" release 7.1

Reading the information provided it is for windows 3.1; however in the manuals it has to have special software running for the 32 bit software to work in windows 3.1.

Question 1.
Can you load it under win98 or winNt without the 32 bit software and have it run correctly.

Question 2.
Will the OCDB drivers provided with it make data stored in an Oracle DataBase table accessible by Office 97 access?

Question 2a.
If 2 is affirmative and this is possible, will you need another ODBC to access with Office Access?

Question 3.
What is the table size limitation under Oracle 7?

Question 4.
Can you have a table in excess of 2 gig on a win95 or NT machine with Oracle 7?

Question 5.
What is the DataBase size limitation if any?

Question 6.
What software c++, cobol, etc is recommended for a front end by the experts out there?

Question 7.
Will visual basic 5 work with this version of Oracle? Received on Thu Mar 11 1999 - 22:34:29 CST
