You might try Web-based training, which is a lot cheaper. But, you must determine if this is a method by which you can effectively learn (as it is different from instructor led). You can take a free test drive of four beginning Oracle courses at http://www.dbdomain.com/free-train.htm. Also, you might consider using Web-based training (which is much less expensive) to pinpoint where you need further classroom training, thereby saving a bundle.
