And keep an eye open for any good websites, but don't trust what you read there until you've tested it on your specific platform and version of Oracle.

Regarding certification - I wasn't impressed with the questions I saw in a recent sample 2 out of 10 didn't have the right answer available, and 2 were sufficiently ambiguous that 2 answers were arguably reasonable. On the other hand, I suspect that up and coming DBA's will probably be (unfairly) eliminated from the CV list if they don't have it.
