At the risk of offending the COBOL people out there (I was one myself once), your choice is between technology with a future (Oracle) and a dead end. Not that COBOL is going to disappear any time soon; you could probably find work for the forseeable future maintaining legacy mainframe code, if that sort of thing appeals to you.

Pick Oracle. Unless you have no aptitude for database work at all, you won't regret it.
