Oracle on various platforms

I'm involved in evaluating a system which uses an Oracle database, and the issue of what platform to run Oracle on has come up. The vendor originally used NT, and is now using AIX. Would anyone care to venture an opinion on what platform is generally the most stable and "best-performing" for Oracle, if that question has an answer?

Thanks in advance,

Chris
