For those looking for a web-based OLAP and reporting solution, InterNetivity makes a OLAP product called dbProbe. It is designed for the web and takes full advantage of the web. What that means to an organization is easy to deploy and maintain (no software to install or maintain on the desktop), and is easy to use for the users and providing

them full functionality (that they would expect from a native windows program).

It can be deployed to thousands of users with minimal incremental effort. Our unique architecture creates the cubes directly in an HTML page for local processing on a client or outside the HTML page for client/server deployment. Administrators define the cube once, schedule the job to create the cube in the HTML page, users are given the URL of the page and you are deployed. The scheduled job updates the cube at whatever frequency the administrator wants. The administrator can also define reports against the cube as he defines them. These become available to the users when they point to the cube and do analysis. Users can do interactive analysis, view standard reports provided by the

administrator, export them to their favorite spreadsheet, print reports,

or mail the link to other users. Users can also do calculated Columbus like give me the growth (1998 - 1997 sales), growth percent etc.

dbProbe is an applet (300K) that is downloaded and runs under a browser,

NSCP 3,4 or IE 3,4. It performs amazingly fast, for instance it can sort

and display 10,000 categories (rows) in 2 seconds.

You can download the demo script for dbProbe4.0 that will give you a better understanding of what's available and a set of questions to consider when deploying an OLAP tool.

Download a full function version 4.0 from our web site at www.Internetivity.com

Pricing is US$20,000 for a server with a 10 user license and US$125 for each additional user in lots of 10. Support and Upgrade is 20% of the license fee annually.

Customers include Nortel, Ameritech, FedEx, Sprint, Telstra, Sun Microsystems, InterWorld
