Keep in mind Oracle develops Oracle on Solaris. Oracle starts on Solaris, gets the NT ver working, goes back to the rest on the Unix ports, and then ... NW is an "other" port and gets very little attention within Oracle itself.

I admin'd on v6 and v7 and between space leaks and lockups it was very frustrating.

Until Oracle really gets in heavy with Linux (which it will - watch) I would say your best bet is to go to Solaris ASAP. Remember, Solaris7 runs on PCs now too.
