This is probaly because you have got a connection through Net8 that is used by the worksheet,  you will nee t to make a connection throught SQL*Net as well, just copy your TNSNAMES.ORA file from your [ORACLE_HOME]/net80/admin/ to [ORACLE_HOME]/network/admin/
