        Hello,

I've tested Oracle/Linux quite a lot and I can say it is stable. During my tests it never crashed nor corrupted any datas. I'm not an Oracle specialist so I can't say it will fit your needs, but my first impression is good. Performance is also good.

There are a couple of issues:

Also Oracle/Linux needs a recent kernel and a recent Libc that are not included in every Linux distribution. If you don't have installed Linux yet, choose a good distribution, you will save a lot of time. I did my tests with Debian/GNU, but you can also choose Redhat which is easier to set up. Both are well maintained distributions. ( www.debian.org and www.redhat.com )

Last point, you can test Oracle/Linux yourself. Go to Oracle Technet ( http://technet.oracle.com ) and download the developper edition. It is the complete 8.05 version ( 180 Mo !)

Tell me if you have more questions.
