Yeah, lemme amend my statement.............................

Oracle training CAN BE a good way to get a basic grounding in concepts, methods, and techniques for working with the database and/or the various tools....

IF IF IF IF you happen to get a good instructor, and be in a good class, and have the interest, and be willing to work your ass off and ask good questions and pay extremely good attention, and then to take what you get and use that basic knowledge to CONTINUE to work your ass off to make mistakes and keep

trying until you get it........................

BUT, a poor instructor - you're screwed. A bad class, you're screwed. Don't have the time or willingness to work your ass off - you're screwed.........

When I started taking Designer/2000 classes I was lucky enough to have an exceptional instructor for three of the classes... He stated right up front that WITH the training, and a lot of work, an intelligent person could achieve competence in the various parts of Designer in 8 - 10 weeks. WITHOUT the classes, unless you're an absolute GENIUS, or you are willing to kill yourself for months - you will NEVER MASTER THE TOOLS......... Received on Thu Jan 14 1999 - 00:00:00 CST
