Folks,

The Oracle literature seemed to indicate that "traditional" client/server development is being superceded by Oracle 8i with Java "embedded" in the database.

I don't quite understand the difference however...

How does 8i work with Java applet clients ? What is the architecture ? Where is the business logic held ? (that is normally found in the middle tier)
How does 8i simplify the development process ?

Has anyone had hands-on experience of developing such a system ?

Thanks in advance -
