Hi,

The vms shop i used to work at used Digital's SLS (Storage Library System). It worked great (we used to do cold backups nightly) and was very straight-forward.

The Oracle Press Backup and Recovery handbook has some good vms related info and DCL code the will be useful. Check that out too.
