Debugging stored procedures called from OCI

Is there any way to debug a stored procedure from OCI? I'm really just trying to figure out whether DBMS_OUTPUT can be re-directed to stdout on a UNIX platform. I've debugged most of my stored procedures using sqlplus, but it would be much nicer to do it via my test drivers.
