Hi all,
We have VB program communicating with an oracle db via odbc. It would
appear that if we are trying to make a connection while a backup is
occurring, the program waits indefinitely to make that connection. This is
not ideal, we would prefer to report it as an error instead of waiting.
Can someone explain what exactly is happening here and why it is waiting -
is this something built into the oracle dbms and how can we make it report
an error instead of waiting.
