Peoplesoft API, need help please :-)

Dear Technology Guru's,

  I'm very new to this so pardon the ignorance. I want to know... Does People soft have API's that can be deployed with cold fusion? and if so what is necessary for implementation? I guess this would have to be API's written in Java or C++. Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.
