                                      Is this the name of your Oracle SID?
This is a generic error that pretty much says "I couldn't connect to the database you asked for because either you didn't tell me to go to the right place or else there's something wrong with the network". Make sure your tnsnames.ora file points to the right computer and instance/SID, as more often than not you've mucked up the entry for where you're trying to go.
