Hi

I've had pretty much the same problem, I've been using an Access front end with a SQL Server rear. The change to Oracle has been a major headache in terms of case sensitivity. I think your idea of using forced upper case indexing columns is good. However, I decided against that for compatibility reasons (the database front end has to be compatible with existing back ends). Instead I decided to UPPER (VB equivalent Ucase for all non-passthough queries) all criteria and tables used for reports (and mail merge letters). This still leaves me with a problem in with MS Access' Filter By Form facility (although Find seems to be case insensitive). I hope somebody else replies with a more universal solution.
