Hope you can all help me out here!

I'm currently retraining for Oracle and have managed to bet my Christmas turkey (well not quite ) that
a wildcard exists when conducting a search to specify numerical data ONLY ie. to exclude all else. Now
I sincerely hope someone can back me up here and actually identify this legendary wildcard and its operation.
As a mere oracle spring chicken I hope I can call on all your wisdom here to solve my problem and save my turkey!

If so I would greatly appreciate an emailed response as self-taught students rarely get grants these days to surf the weary web!

Many thanks...
