lsnrctl status error

Hi!



when I tried lsnrctl status-command on Oracl8 Enterprise server(SUN
5.5.1(2.5.1)) , got following response:



Connecting to (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(Host=xxx)(Port=1521))
TNS-01153: Failed to process string: 5


 NL-00303: syntax error in NV string



Please,can anybody tell me , what these error codes mean??.
