Files copied while the tablespace is in hot backup mode are fuzzy too, since they are written to throughout the backup. You can make them un-fuzzy during recovery by applying the redo generated during hot backup. There is actually a "fuzzy bit" in the datafile header that is changed to be "not fuzzy" when the necessary redo has been applied.
