If I understand you correctly. What you actually need to do is to insert the value into your own table at some point BEFORE you press commit in your form.

The only way I know of doing that is to modify the form and forms libraries and DB procedures used by the form as necessary. Of course you'll still have to commit the insert before you can see it outside the forms so you probably won't be gaining much. It soundls like you'll have to get into the code of the specific form you want to change.
