Perl DBI AND Oracle (ORACLE_HOME)

Hello,

I have been trying to setup the DBI modules to access a remote Oracle server. Basically, I have followed all of the steps to make the DBI modules, however, I am having a problem - when I try to make the Oracle DBM module - it keeps asking for an ORACLE_HOME environment variable to be set. This would be easy if the Oracle server was on the same machine - but it is on a remote machine on the LAN!

My question is: How to I set this variable to reference a remote Oracle installation (If it is even possible)?

here is some of the error output:

 Configuring DBD::Oracle ...
>>> Remember to actually *READ* the README file!

        Especially if you have any problems.  ORACLE_HOME environment variable (c:Orant=) not valid.

Cheers!
