There is a Universal Data Access tool called ISG Navigator providing OLEDB, ODBC and JDBC for most data sources and platforms (including a distributed hetrogenious join engine) at http://WWW.ISGsoft.com

It includes a reasonable ODBC C demo program if you download it.
