multiple oracle databases

I am trying to implement multiple oracle databases in a C/Unix environment. I have two problems to solve:

  1. In the current application we export environment variables for USER, PASSWORD, SID, and INSTANCE. What would I have to export to access tables in two different databases?
  2. In the sql code embedded in my C program, how do I specify which database a table resides in? What is the syntax for such a call?

Thanks so much to anyone who can help with this! I'm in dire need of this info! Please respond to: sevans_at_solbright.com

Sincerely,

Skip Evans
