Sorry about the confusion.

The problem, as explained to me, is that:

• you set your UNIX group/permissions (from UNIX workstation)
• you access the same directory/file that you just changed the permissions/group on from your NT system, it erases the UNIX group/permissions. It changes the group/permissions to NT permissions.

(no, it still doesn't really make sense to me, but the NetApp engineers understand it, and that is what is important. :)

I also found out today that NetApp has accepted this as a bug and they are working on a solution.
