You can do this one of two ways:

  1. go to http://technet.us.oracle.com and get the Oracle 8.0.5 on Linux (when/if available) and use SQL*Net (Net8)
  2. Get the Oracle JDBC Thin driver (type-4 driver) and access Oracle via. Java.
