24-AUG-1998 Hi Guys n Gals,

Oracle Version: 7.3.3
Os: Solaris 2.6 5/98

Ok, I know there are problems on making TNS Listener to work on ver 7.3.3 oh, by the way...I just installed Oracle 7.3.3 and didn't touch anything!! Also, the /var/opt/oracle directory was not created. Any reason why?

When typing: lsnrctl start

I get the following:
TNSLSNR for Solaris: Version 2.3.3.0.0 - Production NL-00462: error loading parameter file /var/opt/oracle/listener.ora NL-00405: cannot open parameter file
SNL-00821: nlfncons: file does not exist Solaris Error: 2: No such file or directory

What steps do I take to correct this problem? I heard something about setting the BT_ADMIN variable in the init<sid>.ora file. Is that it or is there more? Please e-mail me at satarnag_at_microcad.com if any of you know what's the solution.

Thanks in Advance,
Satar Naghshineh
