Hi,

I am getting ready to install Oracle 8 on Solalris 2.6. The machine came loaded with the basic Veritas software (not the Oracle database edition)and Raid 5. I would like to know has anyone used this setup before. Is there anything special I should know when I setup Oracle with it? Do I still need to be concerned about splitting my tablespaces across my disks? Do I use raw files?

In other words - does Veritas take care of these disk management tasks and I dont need to be concerned with them when I set up Oracle? Do I then go back to Veritas and take care of these tasks?

Thank you. You can reply here or to my email.
