Oracle paranoia in ODBC?

Oracle ODBC drivers don't support multiple connections. In fact if you try it, the engine (or driver) hangs up (under Personal Oracle).

This means if you have a program capable of letting the user run multiple queries on the same workstation, it will be impossible even if the user is running Enterprise edition servers. Wait till they hear about that at corporate.

Is anybody bypassing this with non-Oracle drivers? Which? Thanks for any hints.
