DataTypes in Oracle vs MS Access 97 (ODBC)

I was wondering if there is a configuration setup or something similar to assist ODBC in mapping data-types between Oracle to ODBC?

I have numeric data-types (float for example) that sometimes show up as Text in ODBC or Access. Or, integer types that map to float.

Is this unavoidable? Or am I doing
something wrong during the Data Source
creation, or within Access?

Oracle is 7.3.3.x and ODBC is MS 2.73.728303

Thanks,
