Java v. PL/SQL Peformance

Does anybody have an idea or experience of how Java performs against PL/SQL
in an Oracle Web server application.  I know that there are many other
variables that will influence perofrmance, I am purely interested in the
speed of the language.



Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
