Actually, it is logical. Oracle 8 is the database. So we have to install the database first. Then install the tools - i.e. the Developer/2000 or Designer/2000. But I don't understand the Oracle Web Server is an exception.

You can know from the CD. It said that Oracle Developer/2000 Version 2.1 & Oracle Developer/2000 Server Version 2.1 for ... platform. Then, during the installation, there are three options (I fogot the exact wordings):

   . Developer,
   . Deployment, and
   . Custom.

Pick the option Deployment option when you install the Developer/2000 in the server side.
